Poetry: The last piece

I move through the world but don’t belong

I touch but do not feel

I eat but do not taste

I try to cry but am numb

I see others laughing yet remain mute

The world speeding by me as I stand still

I place the last piece of the puzzle in to create the picture

There is something missing, one piece left

The piece that doesn’t fit any where, the piece that is me

  1. What a very poignant poem which I am sure many people will empathise with… My thoughts are those jigsaw pieces that don’t seem to fit with the rest are often the best… they stand out from the crowd.. My granddad used to say.. When everyone is walking in one direction.. turn round and walk in the opposite direction instead.. away from the masses.. x
