PC gone to far? Steve Martin honors or insults Carrie Fisher on Twitter..

Steve Martin Deletes Carrie Fisher Tribute After Backlash

Steve Martin’s tribute to the late Carrie Fisher did not sit well with some. The actor tweeted about Fisher, whom he called a friend, following the news that the “Star Wars” actress died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles last week.

© Twitter New York Magazine noted that Martin’s tweet focused on her physicality, rather than her talents. The actor ultimately deleted the tweet following the backlash.

While some thought criticism of Martin was unjustified, others said Fisher ― a staunch feminist who spoke out against the objectification of women throughout her career ― wouldn’t have paid any mind to the “whiny dudes” getting mad over the clap-backs.

@Huffinton Post
I can’t believe that there is any backlash over this. He lovingly honored his friend by commenting on her beauty and brains. Why do we have to critize and find darkness in someone’s memories?
Honoring someone’s death is personal and does not need to be analayed by others.
Who in the world knows what Carrie would have thought or said. Why in the world is New York Magazie even getting involved?
How far does Political Correctness go?  How far as a society are we going to let it go?

Christmas is a special day and it deserves a special breakfast. Whether it’s just two of you or you’re hosting a crowd, a breakfast celebration is in order. I usually keep things simple yet festive with muffins or scones and a hearty egg casserole.

If you don’t have your menu planned yet, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Here are 15 Christmas morning-worthy recipes, from make-ahead cinnamon rolls to savory egg dishes to a sweet breakfast version of eggnog bread pudding.

If you’re in charge of cooking Christmas breakfast this year, you have two choices about how to spend the morning: You can cozy up in the kitchen with your nearest and dearest as you scramble eggs, flip pancakes, and crisp the bacon. This is usually my approach; I love spending the morning in my pajamas and slippers, making breakfast with my family.

You can also plan a menu with dishes that can all be made ahead of time, like muffins, bread, quiche, and egg casseroles. This is ideal if you’re hosting guests or have a busy day planned.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Would you start to use the word ‘zhe’ instead of he or she?

Would you start to use the word ‘zhe’

instead of he or she?

Reported by Postmedia Network: ‘Bill C-16, a legislation that would amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code to add gender identify and expression as prohibited forms of discrimination’

The Bill, passed the first reading in the house, was introduced by Trudeau as a way to protect those identifying themselves as transgender or non-binary.

I, personally am confused by Bill C-16. What does it mean? How does saying ‘zhe’ protect people? If you call someone ‘zhe’ doesn’t that single them out as being different? How would you know to call them ‘zhe’ unless the person self-identifies?

I understand changes to public bathrooms and calling a person by whatever gender they identify with. Even asking first what they would like to be called if unsure is said to be appropriate.

But legislating that ‘zhe’ has to be used how does this work and does it really help?

What happens if you misuse the word? If you don’t or do call someone ‘zhe’?. Should we all just call everyone ‘zhe’ just in case?

I think changes need to be made and have been seeing a growing consensus that people should be who they want to be. However, adding this new word to a Bill and making it law, could be a slippery and confusing slope.

How would one know to use it and what happens if they do or don’t?

What do you think?

Why do hospital gowns open at the back?

Image result for pic of hospital gown

Love that this image comes with instructions. I am usually at step 1 and 2,

never offered step 3 and 4.

After a scary trip to the emergency room and being admitted to the urgent care unit I was, as everyone is required to, asked to put on a hospital gown. I was wearing leggings and was freezing cold at this time so I opted to leave my leggings on. Of course this was quickly changed as I was ordered to take them off and just have the flimsy gown which even when using the string ties does not cover your bum.

Why do they open to the back?

I understand that in emergency, clothes are cut off of a person and when you are in the hospital they need to get help to you as quickly as possible.

However, if most of my major organs are located in the front, than why have my bum exposed? Why do they need easy access to my bum?

As I was in urgent care, being rushed from test to test with my bum hanging out, thankfully I had some medication through an IV that made me less self-conscience than I normally would have been when mooning strangers (not something I have ever voluntrily done before, don’t really want to but have seen guys moon people, not sure of the appeal).

As the day led into night and I was still there and they were talking about admitting me, I began to ask doctors, nurses and technician about the gown issue. Hey, there is not much to do as you lay in a hospital bed, other than people watch, so I asked.

One answer was because of modesty. Ok I can see how having your bum exposed is better than having your chest and privates on view.  But why do we have to chose one over the other?

I think hospital gowns should be like a house coat. You can tie it on in the front, bum and all other sensitve areas covered, yet when/if an emergency should happen, the doctor just undoes the tie in the front and bam easy access to major organs. Instead, if someone passes out, they will spend time trying to move the gown out of the way.

Who invented the hospital gown and why does it open to the back (yes I know that you can ask for another gown, to wear as a housecoat, but doesn’t this just defeat the whole purpose of why you got changed?

The hospital gown, for now will be a forever mystery to me, unfortunatly or fortunatly depending on who you ask my bum is no longer a mystery to those at the hospital this week.

Does anyone know medically why they open to the back and not to the front?
